WARNING: Possible spoiler below:

Catwoman Animated Short Film from Batman Year One movie.

Voiced by Eliza Dushku, directed by Lauren Montgomery.

Running time, only about 14 minutes.

Usually, DC animated short films or any animated short film for that matter doesn't leave enough time for elaborate plots. It's straight forward because there isn't enough time, it goes straight to the point and lots of action, but still keeping a cohesive smooth flow from the start point to the end point.

Catwoman in many people's minds is seductive, sexy and dangerous. I was quite surprised again with this comic animation from DC because it seems to be leaning a bit more to the adult-oriented audience or at least PG13.

The story started off with 2 henchmen chasing and firing their guns at a cat on the streets. Yes, a cat! The poor thing meowed while dodging bullets, and apparently fell over a bridge to its death. But it was actually saved by mysterious looking woman wearing black leather and goggles.....Catwoman. Catwoman decided to find out what happened because she recognized the cat's unique collar, and this took her head to head with the main criminal. This was followed by a series of fast paced, well choreographed and smoothly animated fights, gun fire, explosions, motorcycle chase, and a huge grappling hook trailer scene among others.

If you thought Carrie Ann Moss looked hot and tough in the Matrix movies, this animated Catwoman beats her with her own high speed heart-thumping motorcycle stunts and martial arts moves more lethal and fluid than those taught by Yuen Woo Ping. And on top of that, Carrie's Trinity never unzipped and stripped dance with a pole! But don't worry, it was part of her disguise to find the truth. But boy, can Catwoman take a beating or what. I know she is not metahuman, but those hurtful high impact crashes must had broken at least some ribs.

Anyhow, the Korean animators did a great job putting the whole thing together, the expressions, looks and proportions of characters are nicely done. The whole story is done at night, which can be tricky. If you don't have enough lighting in the story, everything would be way too dark to watch. Thankfully they found a balance. Catwoman does look a little less Caucasian though in some close ups. There aren't many dialogue lines, just enough peppered here and there to get the plot going.

This is definitely one DC animation short I wouldn't mind watching over and over again. ^^
