Didn't realized that this is an action figure series until I saw the pics posted by bro happyyip in the PVC thread. Since the other famous action figures have their own discussion thread, I thought, why not this as well?

So here it is, as quoted from GSC website:
Good Smile Company wrote:
What is actsta?

actsta is a new action figure series brought to you from Good Smile Company, designed to focus on both mobility and superior sculpting.

* act - able to actively move around, and act out various scenes.
* sta - a statue that maintains a high quality image.

Combining these two ideas, Good Smile Company is aiming for an all new action figure series. Be sure to give them a try with your own two hands!

The first character that has already been released on November this year is none other than Subaru Nakajima from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS.

Description
The beginning of a new age of action figures - 'actsta'. Stand by, ready!

From the tremendously popular anime series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS, Subaru Nakajima is here as the first figure to join the new set of action figures called 'actsta'.

Based off a garage kit designed by Liquid Stone, the sculpting and color have been polished to perfection, and she is capable of taking an uncountable number of poses including many of her "Shooting Arts" hand-to-hand combat techniques.

The joint areas look more natural than ever before, adding even more quality to the figure. Not to mention that the face parts, arm parts and shoes can all be exchanged with additional parts, giving even more variability to Subaru's poses.

No, I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I know, Figma's manufacturer is Max Factory while Good Smile Company only helps to distribute them.

This actsta is a new poseable figure manufactured by Good Smile Company. Think of it as a 1/8 scaled PVC figure that is not static and can be posed. Material and sculpt-wise, I think is almost or as good as what we can get from a static 1/8 PVC figure.

I haven't tried to find other reviews yet but I've read one from Tomopop. You can read it here:
http://tomopop.com/tomopop-review-1-8-s ... 0022.phtml

Not really a positive review but I guess it's mostly the same for first figure, and a poseable one at that.

EDIT: Oh by the way, the reviewer broke a peg too on this BIG figure, so I guess now we have to TRIPLE our carefulness on smaller action figures (referring to what happened to your Figma >_< ).

Hmm...guess there'll be Figma n Actsta....
I read the link u provided,it seems that the author does not like the figure for the price and bad paint job that has smear over the clothes.Weak arm and bad articulation on the neck.

Damn,we cant really know that until we get the figure for all da promotional images of that figure seems very very convincing.

I guess we can't really always trust promotional pictures as they can use temporary adhesives to make sure the pose stays while shooting the pictures.

Bad paint job aside, I think GSC haven't really manage to combine action figure with PVC statue... except the name, of course :D . From what I see now...

The pros:
From the PVC figure point of view
-> no more "everyday-also-this-pose-sooner-or-later-will-get-bored-of-it-then-BIB" feel.

The cons:
From the action figure point of view
-> just a bigger version of Figma so who's gonna pay double or triple the money for it? (Figma is used for comparison because both also have face sculpt following the anime version, not the sculptor's own style)
