Frankly, I'm not a fan of all these remote, light-up etc thingys. The more eletronic parts involved, the bigger chance the stuff's gonna hv problems. Sick of paying hands and legs for the buttons buttons that only last for a while... To me, this is only the way of those smart business men jacking up their product price. Sometimes, when you look at the thing, it just doesn't worth that much in terms of quality and lasting period... Aren't those the main things to look into, instead of just the "likeness" and "size" when you define a "Collectible"?

I'm with you bro! These so called gimmick are a straight NO NO to me.

To me, they are making it more like toy. I mean toy that you can buy for your children at Toys'r Us.

Seriously, remote control, light-up, sounds effect and dialog from movie??

Come-mon Bill! I don't want my Robo to be telling me "You're under arrest" or "Dead or alive, you are coming with me" all the time!!

come to think of it, true also.....all these electronic gimmick very risky n doesnt last long.
just like my previous FX Vader lightsaber, it's just a plastic tube once the light thingy stop working/glitch...... :sad-cloud:

I agree with you all. The sound effects and gimmicks aren't really necessary for adult collectors like us. It's cool, but given the price mark-up and added risks of damaged electronics (especially if you order online), it's just not worth it.

But...it would be cool if they made a ED-209 with motion-sensor activated sound effects. Imagine walking into your house, and Old Eddie lights up on the shelf, and says, "Put down your keys and wallet; you have ten seconds to comply!"
