Not sure if this was reported before.

I just found this while I was researching online for any Black Widow Iron Man 2 version Hot Toys figure costume cracks/peel/disintegrate.

I remember I saw a cracked costume once, but can't find it again.

Anyhow, I found this Chinese article.

Apparently when The Dark Knight Batman DX figure was first released.
Hot Toys in a Chinese statement to customers clarified that it was not because of the materials they used for making the Batman costumes.

In the released statement above, they said that it was because when they were applying the base paint(底油) coloring process, the spraying of oil was excessive (喷油过厚). This caused the oozing of oily substance from the suit. They emphasized this has nothing to do with the choice of materials/ingredients used for making the suit.

Denying any wrong...Damage control statement from HT... incompatible materials cause it to melt.. Which is why they switch to hard plastic abs armor in later batches of dx02... and hardly any comedian is left unharmed.

One of HT most famous disasters that would remain in infamy in returns and bad customer service of the company's history

So, Silken Floss compelled me to do her laundry although I protested.

"I'm an artist, I don't do laundry!"

To which she said: "On your knees now!" and threatened me with her trademark syringe.

So, I waited for the stupid haze to clear, and today it was clear skies and fresh air, good day for doing 1/6 laundry.

Her uniform were made to be removable, including the belts. Just unbutton and unhinge......for the inner long sleeved shirt, the last 2 plastic buttons were actually sewn dead. I had no choice but to cut the threads to release. I couldn't figure out how they put this shirt on in the first place. Couldn't pull over the shoulders and pull down because of the last 2 buttons.

Anyhow, it's all done. I hope she's happy. *grumble grumble* I know it's been 3 years she wore that thing.....haha.

Haha. I need to use flat-tip clothes clips next time. Left clip mark on her pants. Can iron out. "shame1"

Are you keeping it in the box or displaying it? HT does wrap your collectibles nicely in the box, but if you're displaying it, you can take them off to admire the handcraft.

I normally display my collections to allow them to "breathe". Avoid direct sunlight, dusts, high temperature areas, and packets of silica gel (absorb moisture contents).

for any leather types much more better to display rather keep in box... to avoid crack. I did apply leather protection lotion on leather suits & pants such as my T-2 from T800 & my Adam Ape. but after a whole... I became so LAZY to do... :?
as long as not direct to sunlight, to dry with high temp. keep in air-circulate cabinet...as Alex mentioned above... should be ok...
