Hi, I'm demonhunter and I would like to present to you my toys and collectibles reviews.

I would like to start off first with my review of Kotobukiya's Marvel Daredevil and Punisher resin light up busts.

Image

Okay, they are quite heavy as small busts.

The packaging is in the usual black boxes. But the front has a flap, you can open it and peekabo at just the head of the bust inside. Packing wise, the styrofoam has improved very much since the first Iron Man statue. No soft foams inside, instead it's just plastic and yellow paper. For Daredevil, there was a piece of 'hard' foam. Everything is there to protect the busts nicely.

First off, Punisher.

His right arm is a seperate piece that needs to be attached to the torso.

The flare stick doesn't come with an unlighted one. I thought there was an alternate unlighted flare. Hmmm.

Painting: Pretty good.
Sculpt: Nice.

The light switch is still at the bottom.

Daredevil:

Paint: Good.
Sculpt: Good.

My only minor gripe is that I was expecting his red eyes to be ruby red, like in the movie. A bit transluscent ruby red. Instead it's dull matte red.

His billy sticks has a very thin wire attaching both sticks to each other. Careful not to break it.

Switch at the bottom.

I know Daredevil was a crappy movie. But I still like Ben Affleck as DD, and I think the sculpt captures Affleck's looks.

Comparing both busts:
When lighted up, Punisher sign has a yellowish tint. Punisher's sign is pure white. I wonder if this was intentional. Hmmm.

Can't really capture the effect of lighted up with my crummy camera. But it looks pretty good.

Each bust comes with an instruction sheet telling you how to stick the metal edition number plate to your bust.

I just hope Kotobukiya will just make the next movie bust as Jessica Alba Invisible Woman. That is my dream.

Overall verdict:
I'm happy with my Kotobukiya movie busts. Looking forward to more.

Believe or not, he may look like a monster, but he's the good guy.

When it's time to kick some serious monsters butt, you have to call in the professionals from BPRD, and you bring in the Big Red; Hellboy!

Ok, I need to say a few things quickly about Hot Toys Hellboy.

1. Great packaging as usual.
2. Could do without the outer box sleeve though.
3. Sculpt: Fantastic. It's mini Ron Perlman as Hellboy in the house.
4.Paintjob:Quite faultless. Except my Hellboy has a tiny itsy weeny white dot on his nose.
5. Costume: Fantastic tailoring. He comes with so many beads, chains, pouches and all that stuff, please do not open him on your bed. Some of these tiny itsy weeny beads could drop out.
6. A Hellboy is judged by the shoes he wears. Look at them shoes, the replication is superb in everydetail, and the painting is fantastic. Nice shoes, Big Red.
7. What's Hellboy without guns? I love the guns. I love Big Baby. They painted them nicely, the nice touch is that the barrels can turn! The guns have a weathered effect look. Nice, nice.
8. If you want to use Hellboy's gloved left hand to hold The Good Samaritan, you need to pull that piece of plastic with the peg away from his regular opened-hand. I wish the gloved hand was already with a peg. Quite hard to pull.

Some words of caution:
The stand is at the back of the black plastic. So be careful when opening Hellboy, your stand could fall off and hit your toe. It did to me. HT should have taped the stand to the black plastic.

Hellboy is tied down with at least 4 twisty ties.
Before you turn Hellboy over to untie him, please keep the transparent plastic tray on to the black plastic tray. If not, all your six red bullets from Big Baby will come falling out, the guns will fall out,the hand will fall out etc. It happened to me.

Last but not least, please follow HT's instruction sheet which tells you that your Hellboy muscled body can only be posed in certain ways. Do not raise his arms to the top, as if "Freeze, this is a robbery" kind of raise your arms. Do not turn his arms all the way to the back....well you read it up.

His foot joints are quite loose, so you can turn his foot inwards /outwards quite easily. In, Out, In, Out, tee hee, that was fun.

Watch out for his tail. This is not your regular 12" HT man doll. This one comes with tail.

Oh and one last thing, please cut your nails if you have long nails. Because you wouldn't want your nails to leave a mark on Hellboy's rubber ribs when you pull him out of the tray, eh?

Overall, the verdict is, I'm glad I took Hellboy home.
Post pics of yours when you get him.

Until then, have a good Hellboy time.

This is why I don't like this kind of body(muscle type)~ :(
Looks good, but lacks articulation and it really doesn't last(cracking). :( :(

GOOD JOB bro demon!

A very good start to have our own figurine review center...

Since this is a "Toy Snap & Toy Review" corner, and most of the threads here are about toy snapping skills, can I suggest that all of us put your own reviews about any figures here?

For all the past reviews, like those done by sis minky, can be copied and paste into this thread (Do you mind, bro demon??), so everyone can just come here to check on reviews instead of going into each individual thread.

What do you guys think?

Bowen Jean Grey Marvel Girl statue. By Mark Newman.

I just received her on Thursday.

This is my very first Bowen statue.

I'm quite happy with it but after hearing many people who swore and touted that Bowen is the Gold Standard for collectible superhero statues, I had very high expectations from it.

Overall, the painting is very clean and crisp, and with tones. Nice.

But it does seem that the painting on the face looses points. The yellow mask paint ran over from the outline of the mask onto her nose a bit. The camera can't capture it because it's yellow and there was flash. And then on her left face, yellow paint from her mask again ran across the outline near her left eye.

Her left eye seems to be looking left a bit more while her right eye seems looking straight.

Anyways, I'm hoping that the upcoming Jim Lee Jean Grey would be much better than this. I wouldn't mind very much if the paint ran a bit on other parts, but on the face, it ruins a bit of my enjoyment as I love the Mark Newman sculpted Jean Grey face. It's lovely.

Her legs could have used a bit less toned skin paint. She looks like she's got 'very' muscular legs.

Anyways, looking forward to more Bowen statues.

So far, SideShow seems to have the best paint job most of the time, followed by Kotobukiya...from my experience.

At about 6pm, I got a SMS message on my cellphone. It was the comic shop's boss, telling me that my Wonder Woman has arrived!

Woo hoo! I was very excited and couldn't wait to get off from work, and head straight to pick her up. I never thought I would get it this soon.

The lady working there said that she hasn't inspected the statue yet, as she was busy. I said that's fine. In fact, I'd rather they let me be the first to check it. Gently I opened the box, cut through the tapes, and what greeted me was a mummified Wonder Woman! :D

I have bought lots of statues from different companies, and this is the first time I've seen a statue wrapped up so much with paper. Not only that, this is the first time I've seen a statue packed with not just one, but 4 big bags of silica gel. LOL. Actually, it's good. Keeps her dry.

With no further ado, here are the pics, gentlemen.

She looks great with 1/7 scale I-No from Guilty Gear. They are almost the same size.

My gosh, you guys should see the paint job on Wonder Woman. This is one of the most clean and almost flawless paintjobs I've seen. It's even better than my Bowen Marvel Girl. Simply awesome. DC Direct IS getting better with this Cover Girl series.

Now, my wait continues for August to come, then Zatanna will be mine.

It's pretty late now. I'll do a proper review on Saturday for Wonder Woman. Yawn.....what a hard day's night it was at the office. I'll also show her box and her official certificate.
